Out with the Old, in with the New!!!

New Year, New blog look!!!!  I'm not usually one for making resulotions, I never keep them so I just don't bother to make them anymore.  This year, I've been thinking I really should make one or two and keep them. So I'm starting out slow!!   I think I'm going to make this my healthy as can be year! I miss the days of eating everything healthy, not being really active and so on!  I am still active but it's a different kind of active, one that works so a 2 year old can keep up.  Everything I do is kid related, I need to get back into being active for me.

Our Christmas was by far the best one in a long time, it was great to just have to travel to my mom's house and stay there. We spent Christmas eve together, baking and getting things ready for our big Boxing Day family Christmas.  When we'd finally had enough of that, we opened up the wii and played Family Fued! It was so much fun and so nice to have a family bonding. Christmas day, we went to volunteer at a soup kitchen. Something we do every year and afterwards we enjoyed a nice Chinese food dinner! Jaelon didn't really get the whole opening gifts thing again this year but he did open a few things. Boxing Day was a busy day, everyone was there, Jaelon had a ton of fun running around with his cousins and our homemade gifts were a big hit! I don't know if I'll be able to top them. Thank goodness for Pintrest ;) We did Ornaments with glitter inside, Jaelon painted the outside, I bought that lovely brown packing paper and let him go to town on it. That was our wrapping paper this year! Also thanks to Pintrest found how to make gift bows! So I did that as well! I loved this gift this year and was happy to see that everyone loved them just as much!

Good-bye 2011 bring on 2012!!!

Christmas Questions

I know I said no more posts from me until the New Year. I was reading some of my mommy friends blogs and these questions just seemed like to much fun to pass up.  If I could figure out the posting of links, I would post their blog links! But in the mean time, Thanks to them for sharing and allowing me to follow suit ;)

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?  Gift bags, I hate wrapping! Though this year I went the recycled way and bought that awful looking brown paper, let Jaelon and my Niece go to town on it, added a few red and green paint stamps and voila!!!! Now I'm wishing I just stuck with the gift bags ;)
2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial, I have enough issues keeping everyday plants alive, lets not add to the mix. But the thought of a real tree always puts a smile on my face, more when I think of my sister's poor tree last year! HAHAHAHA, Sorry Sista!!
3. When do you put up the tree? Usually soon after Halloween, this year not until December 1st.
4. When do you take the tree down? After New Years!
5. Do you like eggnog? Blaaaahh, NO!
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I guess my talking Crickett doll or Nintendo
7. Do you have a nativity scene? No
8. Hardest person to buy for? My Bestie.... WHEN I do buy her something!
9. Easiest person to buy for? Jaelon and my Neice!!!
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? This year, both. My mommy group did a card exchange, which was a lot of fun and I emailed everyone else!
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?  Don't think that's ever happened
12. Favorite Christmas Movie?  A Christmas Vacation and White Christmas!
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? End of Summer, but that's only for Jaelon. I do homemade gifts for everyone else.
14. Ever recycled a Christmas present? Probably but can't be sure.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? HMMMM.... Shortbread... I guess I'll leave it at that ;)
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Coloured, everyone likes clear, I like to mix it up a bit. Plus Jaelon loves all the colours!
17. Favorite Christmas song? Holly Jolly Christmas, O Holy Night and One more day till Christmas (Your wondering where that song is from now aren't you? LOL!)
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Travel. This year not nearly as much as other years, YAAAAAYYY!!!
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? I sure can
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?  Only open Christmas Jammies on Christmas eve, everything else Christmas morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? That ppl get to wrapped up in buying and over spending.  I get to wrapped up in.... EATING!!
23. Favorite ornament, theme, or color?  Jaelon's first Christmas  ornament
24. What do you want for Christmas this year? Jaelon is happy and healthy, I think I'm set!! I hope everyone else is happy and healthy as well :D

Have a great Christmas holiday everyone and keep safe!!  Last post for this year.  See you in the New Year!

Have you ever just felt....

.... Like your suffocating??
I don't mean suffocating with bills but with everything in general.  I KNOW I have been seriously slacking with posts, the last few weeks have been a bit trying...  Surprisingly, the bills aren't piling up, there isn't much for playing room but they aren't piling up!!  Two (maybe three) weekends ago now, I sent Jaelon to my mom's! I did nothing much at all ;) and loved every minute of it. I feel completely rejuvenated and very thankful that I was able to have that time to myself.  The weekend was just long enough and exactly what I needed!!  I give big kudos to those with more than one child and an even bigger kudos to the single parents with more than one child. I don't know how you do it!!!!

Now I'm ready to tackle this Christmas holiday, actually I am looking forward to it! I thought I was done with our gifts but have to come up with something else as I'm having issues with this PC and Christmas project #1 looks like it will be an epic fail. So I got a great recipe and I think that is going to be the new Christmas project! I love making things to give away!!  I took Jaelon to get his picture done with Santa, that was an EPIC FAIL :) Jaelon had a blast "signing" his name to the cards we sent out, now he walks around "spelling" his name. It's really quite cute! He's received some Christmas cards in the mail, though he isn't in to opening them, he does LOVE totting them around or running over to get one so he can show it to whoever comes in the house. Also between him, the cats and the dog, I'm not sure if there will be anything left of our Christmas tree. Thankfully nothing has been broken but at the end of the day I am having to put ornaments back on that were "knocked" off. Also having to rearrange the skirt around the tree, as apparently it makes a nice bed for boy and animals!! Oh well 'Tis the season!!!!!!

I can now say I no longer feel like I'm suffocating and things here are good!!!

I promise come the new year I will be way more active with posting.  That's one of my New Year's Resolutions!! Be safe, enjoy and remember what the Holiday season is about :D

Until the New Year, keep smiling and enjoy!!!
